Summer Camp at Pond Inlet Nunavut

When COVID-19 showed up in Nunavut all recreation and sport programs were shut down to protect the health and safety Nunauvummiut in the territory. As time progressed some restrictions were lifted and as a result Pond Inlet’s recreation department was able to host summer day camp. This camp lasts 6 weeks where children develop skills to create positive change in their communities through physical activity, creative arts, and sport. We are able to hire summer students who work with the children and create a fun environment where the kids are excited every day to come to camp! Many of the summer students took the camp as a child and have very fond memories of attending the camp.
