York Womens Summer hockey has been around for about 20 years. We welcome all women, of all skill level and ages from 18 and beyond. what we’ve realized is that some of the not so young women who still want to keep playing, find the level of play between a 20 year old and a 40 – 70 year old is becoming more challenging. Many of the not so young women now have the flexibility to play hockey during the day. My plan is to start a league for women 45+ on a weekday morning. Men’s leagues have been doing this for many years, so I thought it’s about time women had the same opportunity. The goal is to have a minimum of 2 teams – 4 would be ideal. The games would be refereed and follow all the regular hockey rules. Hoping this may also be an opportunity to possibly recruit women who have always wanted to try hockey and provide a safe and supportive environment. Thank you for your consideration.
