Dear Committee Members,
Hello, my name is Debbie Beaudoin, and I am the President of Warriors Ice Sports Training Society, and I am writing to request funding to support our athlete participating at the Women’s Weekend Warriors Hockey Camp and additional youth programs in Chilliwack, BC. Our continued growth of female registration into our community programming in hockey and ringette is at an ultimate high.
Warriors Ice Sports Training Society: formerly Beaudies House of Hockey is a non-for-profit organization that teaches individuals of all ages and skill ability the elements of skating, hockey, and ringette. We are based in Chilliwack, but our community clients come from Hope, Mission, Chilliwack, Abbotsford, White Rock, and Langley. The continued growth of the programs being offered to the community strongly relies on being cost affordable to all individuals seeking lessons. WISTS programming is geared towards the foundation of grass-roots development, individual and group learning, and teaching individuals through example of physical literacy and fundamental movement.
Our purpose of the society is to provide low-cost opportunities for individuals to come and learn to play hockey, ringette and even the art of skating. WISTS offers a safe and fun environment where each amateur athlete and athlete in the making will improve and progress through the various phases of their development. WISTS provides a training environment both on and off the ice that allows all athletes, of all ages and levels, to grow and develop at a pace that is comfortable yet challenging for them.
The challenges we face, in providing this overall experience is the cost to purchase the following: proper teaching equipment for students to grow and learn, the overall cost of ice, marketing circuits and jerseys for each participant. Grassroots development on and off the ice requires widespread exposure with the emphasis on fun and fundamental skills.
On a personal level, and as the Owner of Beaudies House of Hockey and President of Warriors Ice Sports Training Society, I choose to continuously communicate with local associations in both hockey and ringette at the minor level as well as use my knowledge, education, and connections to create experiences for women at the adult level. This past March of 2023, I helped alongside a colleague to create 3 Women’s Hockey Teams to participate at the CARHA World Cup. In creating the teams, Warriors Ice Sports Training Society and Beaudies House of Hockey, donated jerseys to the teams to keep the cost of the tournament at an ultimate low, while keeping the experience of the tournament at an ultimate high.
Your grant will help WISTS by lowering the cost of the programs, and tournaments as well as providing up to date equipment during our training sessions and help us with the costs to provide all our athletes with a memorable jersey.
Please note our programs are all inclusive. We have individuals with Cerebral palsy, Autism, ADHD and other cognitive and mental disorders. We support all individuals learning and welcome all ethnicities and genders.
Thank you for your consideration of our request. If you have any questions for me about Warriors Ice Sports Training Society and our programming, please feel free to reach out.
Sincerely,
Debbie Beaudoin – President of WISTS
