Hockey Camp

From watching hockey my entire life, enrolling my daughter in U7 Timbits, to finally throwing on equipment this year myself. I am excited to say – women’s hockey has become a weekly addition to my extracurriculars.

So much so, 4 of us from our women’s hockey team, travel 1.5 hours every Wednesday (for 6 weeks) to attend a “for women by women” hockey camp. Shout out to JML in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. These 3 ladies have inspired us to learn basic hockey skills and provided us with the ability to add them to our repertoire next hockey season. The prize money from Game Changers will provide us the opportunity of having these 3 amazing and knowledgeable women run their camp here in our small town of Blind River and share their skill and passion of hockey with all the women interested (without them having to pay a fee). Starting a new sport so late in life sounded extremely daunting but I am thrilled to have sparked a passion I wasn’t even aware was there. Within me, and many other women as well.
