Throughout my years of working in the women’s sports space, and particularly in the hockey space, I’ve had countless stories from women about how they always wanted to play hockey but were never allowed, never had the resources, or didn’t know how to get involved. Some of these stories go on with a happy ending of a woman starting hockey in her 30s, 40s, or 50s, but many don’t.
I’m on a mission to change this. Through my social enterprise, her Soul Shot, my mission is to help women take their shot in sports. The community is already built, the next step is creating the resources and opportunities for women to take their shot, especially in hockey. The Game Changers funding would be a helpful piece to bringing the mission to life and helping more women follow their dreams of playing hockey, at any age and level.
