Hello Carha Hockey,
Let me introduce you to our first year girls youth hockey program in Golden BC.
The first year in Golden’s minor hockey history to have a female on the board as a female representative. We have been working hard to promote female hockey and this is the first time minor hockey has allocated ice time for the girls!

We all know we have so much work to still do but the girls are getting excited to have an all girls ice time coming this season. This grant will help get the team off to a good start. We could love to put this money towards jersey’s and maybe bringing a female mentor in for a practice or 2. Our plan is to build a culture of fun while leaning the sport of hockey, and show them that it is a life long skill. We have girls in minor hockey already that will join this all girls ice time with new girls that will only play at this ice time. We are buzzing with excitement for this upcoming season with lots of plans in the works of Esso Days and hoping to attend a couple of all girls tournaments. This is a road of learning for all of us and we are excited to get this program off the ground. Thank you Carha for being a platform to lift the female athletes and Girls in Hockey, this is something that needs to be at the forefront of this sport. We are hockey players too!
