Female hockey development for u9 and u11

The Capital District Cyclones in Charlottetown, PEI, are a female team that crosses two hockey zones. Because of the zoning, often development cannot be offered to females only. And because Capital District teams play across four different rinks in the two associations the female players do not frequently see older/younger female teams play.

The request for these funds is to cover ice fee rentals to provide skills and drills development sessions for u9 and u11 females players and goaltenders for Capital District. The goal is to have u15 players from Capital District assist with the sessions to allow the younger girls to see older girls who play hockey and create a community setting. In addition, we will work with the technical directors in the two local Minor Hockey Associations to develop the sessions, creating a fun atmosphere to learn and practice skills.

By ensuring girls have the skills to feel successful in hockey, they will continue playing and be engaged in sport.
