2023/ 2024 was a big year for Women’s Hockey in the small town of Blind River, Ontario. After throwing on skates for the first time 2 years ago, I was inspired to begin a Ladies Hockey League for Women along the North Shore. With help from close friends and fellow players who I (along with many others) consider to be leaders in women’s hockey, an entire league consisting of approximately 70 players was created. Every Sunday night – 4 teams with different calibre of players and of different ages, would face off against one another and create long time memories. Winning this incentive – would allow me to keep registration costs low and ensure the Blind River Ladies Hockey League can be enjoyed by players all across the North Shore. Our inaugural year was one to remember. It’s just the beginning for the Blind River Ladies Hockey League – we are just getting started.
