Just a little rink

This past winter Rocanville Recreation along with the Town of Rocanville created a temporary outdoor rink for our community. As COVID – 19 made life more challenging for everyone this little rink brought so much to our community. The outdoor rink gave our community a space to enjoy winter and provided a safe space for families to socialize and stay active. Although the outdoor rink was put together in a last-minute effort to provide a space for the community it was a huge success. The rink was often busy with families spending their evenings and weekends enjoying a skate. School kids would walk to the rink at lunch an enjoy some physical activity and fresh air. Grandparents spent hours parked in the parking lot, watching their grandchildren skate from the safety of their vehicles. This little rink truly became the hub of our community.
