Grindstone Award Foundation continuing to help girls play hockey this Fall!

This past weekend, the Grindstone Award Foundation, after a year and a half of no hockey, was finally able to get into an arena to see girls at their best – playing hockey! The GAF is a registered Canadian charity that provides grants to girls to play hockey, who want to play, but are unable to for financial reasons. Our main source of donations for the grants come from fundraisers put on by the girls hockey associations and with hockey shut down, Grindstone has not been able to raise funds the same way. Through the pandemic, the Board has been hard at work developing new plans to bring in funds for girls to play and being able to watch this game in person is a positive sign that we can finally put our plans into action. We can’t wait to help more girl play hockey!
